The Call Taker ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website thecalltaker.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We believe in being straightforward — no legalese walls of text.
When you start a trial, submit onboarding information, explicitly request follow-up, use an enabled demo, or otherwise contact us, we may collect the following:
We collect contact and business information only when you submit it voluntarily. Anonymous website measurement is separate: it uses random browser-session and correlation identifiers with page path, CTA, selected plan, and bounded source/campaign fields. Those anonymous events do not contain form values, email addresses, phone numbers, card data, cookies, or a silently inferred identity. We do not purchase contact lists or scrape visitor identity from other websites.

Providing a phone number for a demo, account, billing, setup, or support does not by itself consent to marketing SMS/MMS messages. The Call Taker sends marketing SMS/MMS only when you separately opt in through a clear request that identifies The Call Taker, the message purpose, the phone number to be contacted, and how to opt out.
Where you choose to opt in, you agree to receive recurring marketing SMS/MMS from The Call Taker at the number you provide, using automated technology where stated in the request, about the products or services described there. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help. See the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy. We retain consent and opt-out records to operate the program and demonstrate compliance. We do not sell or share phone numbers or SMS opt-in information for third parties’ marketing purposes.
Service, setup, account, and security messages are sent only as reasonably necessary to provide or support a requested or active service and must not contain marketing content unless separately consented to.

Our current public funnel uses a first-party event receiver and browser session storage to measure page views, CTA interactions, preview steps, pricing views, and pending checkout status. Source and UTM values are bounded and sanitized. Anonymous measurement does not authorize email, SMS, calls, or other follow-up. Contact follow-up requires the separate explicit-consent form.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. Our website is served over HTTPS (encrypted connection). Access to our CRM and internal tools is password-protected and limited to authorized team members.
That said, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain contact, setup, billing-reference, call, and support information only as reasonably needed for service delivery, security, billing, dispute handling, legal obligations, and operational review. You may request deletion, subject to records we must retain for legal, security, or billing reasons.

The rule in §2a controls all SMS/MMS messages. A submitted form, by itself, does not enroll anyone in marketing SMS/MMS. Marketing SMS/MMS requires the separate opt-in described in §2a. If you opt in, message types, frequency expectations, automated-technology disclosure where applicable, STOP/HELP instructions, and links to the Terms and Privacy Policy will be presented with the opt-in. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Our services are intended for business owners and operators who are 18 years of age or older. You must be at least 18 years old to use our services, submit forms on our website, or opt in to receive SMS messages. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
